I'm a HUGE fan of things that are carefully constructed by hand. Moreover, there's something really special about designing and building something that will be used to cook meat for thousands upon thousands of people over its lifetime(or even dozens of relatives and friends).
I've been lucky to have been able to sit down with a Eleven of the best custom bbq pit builders in the country over the last few years for my show. You can see these interviews below. I have more to edit(and more scheduled), so be sure to check back often as I'll continue to add to this section.
If you are in the market to purchase a pit(or your second or third one) you can use these interviews to learn more about the pit builder as well as see everything they offer(note they are in alphabetical order).
Also, note that I have interviewed guys that build pits(like Sheldon Mason and Reid Guess), but they aren't featured below because they build these pits for themselves or their restaurant and do not sell to the public. Which is pretty damn cool in my book.
